Project Details

Sector: Disaster Management, Search And Rescue, Security Surveillance
Primary Use Case: Deployment of integrated airborne and ground-based systems equipped with multi-camera, LiDAR, and communication modules to detect, map, and monitor emergencies such as wildfires, maritime rescues, border security, immigration control and infrastructure threats. The systems process and stream real-time sensor data using AI analytics, enabling control centers and pilots to make informed, rapid decisions in critical situations.
Challenge: Coordinating rapid, accurate, and reliable disaster response in harsh, dynamic environments while handling large volumes of multi-sensor data. Traditional solutions either lacked the AI processing capability, ruggedness, or speed of integration required for airborne operations. Ensuring vibration resistance, reducing operational delays, and securing consistent, long-term hardware availability were essential for meeting mission-critical demands.

Objective

To deliver a fully integrated, AI-powered aerial and ground-based monitoring system capable of providing real-time, actionable intelligence during critical operations such as natural disaster response, search and rescue missions, and infrastructure protection. The project aims to improve decision-making speed, enhance operational safety for first responders, and optimize resource usage by automating the collection, processing, and distribution of multi-sensor data.

Key Features

  • Multi-sensor integration including RGB, infrared, multispectral cameras, LiDAR, and communication modules for comprehensive situational awareness.
  • Onboard AI processing using NVIDIA Jetson modules to detect, track, and classify targets in real time, even in harsh operational environments.
  • High-speed cable interface for efficient, vibration-resistant connectivity on aerial platforms.
  • Real-time data streaming to command centers using advanced telecommunications systems, including satellite connectivity (e.g., Starlink).
  • Digital twin technology for automated data aggregation, analysis, and delivery of mission-ready insights to decision-makers.
  • Ruggedized design suitable for helicopters, drones, unmanned boats, and other mobile platforms.
  • Scalable architecture adaptable for civil, governmental, and military applications across multiple markets.

Solution

To meet the demanding requirements of rapid disaster response and infrastructure protection, Hightek implemented a fully integrated AI-powered sensing and analytics platform built on FORECR’s NVIDIA Jetson-based hardware. This solution combines advanced multi-sensor payloads — including RGB, infrared, multispectral, and LiDAR — with real-time onboard AI processing to detect, classify, and track events as they unfold.

Hardware Integration with NVIDIA Jetson Modules

By leveraging FORECR’s high-performance, vibration-resistant carrier boards and high-speed cable interfaces, Hightek was able to deploy a compact, robust, and modular system capable of operating reliably on helicopters, drones, and unmanned marine vessels in extreme environments. The onboard processing significantly reduces the need for manual data handling, while the integrated digital twin automatically aggregates and analyzes incoming information.

NVIDIA Software Frameworks Used

  • DeepStream – for AI-based video analytics and real-time data processing from multi-camera systems.
  • YOLO networks – for running object detection AI models onboard.
  • TensorFlow – for training and deploying AI models.
  • GStreamer – for managing live video streaming pipelines.

Critical intelligence is streamed instantly to command centers via advanced communication links, including satellite-based networks such as Starlink, enabling decision-makers to act in seconds, not hours. The scalable architecture supports a wide range of missions — from wildfire detection and maritime search and rescue to border security and critical asset monitoring — ensuring that first responders and operators have the right information at the right time to save lives, protect resources, and improve operational efficiency.

Why HIGHTEK Selected NVIDIA Modules for Their Solution

HIGHTEK selected NVIDIA Jetson modules for their ease of use, comprehensive documentation, and strong AI capabilities, which allowed for rapid integration and customization for each client project. Additionally, the high-speed cable interface simplified installation by carrying all required signals without conventional interfaces, ensuring reliability in complex multi-camera and sensor setups. Overall, Jetson modules delivered the performance, flexibility, and ruggedness needed to quickly develop and deploy advanced AI-powered solutions.

FORECR’s Impact on HIGHTEK’s Project

FORECR’s high-performance, robust NVIDIA Jetson-based hardware played a pivotal role in enabling HIGHTEK to bring their advanced disaster management and security solutions to life. By delivering reliable, vibration-resistant processing platforms with high-speed cable interfaces, FORECR ensured that HIGHTEK’s multi-sensor systems could operate seamlessly on helicopters, drones, and unmanned vessels in extreme conditions without performance degradation.

The integration of FORECR hardware significantly reduced development time for HIGHTEK, thanks to its ease of integration, robust documentation, and proven compatibility with AI frameworks such as DeepStream and TensorFlow.

FORECR’s consistent product availability and fast, precise technical support were also instrumental in keeping HIGHTEK’s projects on schedule, especially when working under strict client deadlines.

As a result, HIGHTEK was able to deploy fully operational, AI-powered monitoring solutions across Southern Europe — covering over 25 helicopters — with improved operational efficiency, reduced fuel and time consumption, and enhanced decision-making capabilities for first responders and infrastructure operators.

Why HIGHTEK Choose Forecr as Their Hardware Partner

“HIGHTEK selected FORECR for our mission-critical projects because of their reliable, ruggedized NVIDIA Jetson-based hardware, fast and precise technical support, and consistent product availability. FORECR’s solutions met our demanding requirements for vibration resistance, high-speed connectivity, and ease of integration in harsh environments such as helicopters and unmanned platforms. Unlike previous suppliers, FORECR provided long-term product stability and immediate stock availability, enabling us to deliver on tight deadlines.
